What is the WebApp Beta ("Demo") edition?

IdeaMapper is available as public beta webapp at https://webappdemo.ideamapper.com.

Please note a number of important messages:
  1. You use this app at your own risk. However, we do not believe that running this app should cause any issues on your device because it is executed in a "sandbox".
  2. The app has very likely bugs which we may or may not be aware of yet. 
  3. The app may crash without warning, it may also "hang", where it may not respond to keyboard or mouse clicks. In those cases you may have to clear your browser cache and reload the app, this normally "fixes" it. We would appreciate it if you could send us a message with a screenshot and a short description of what you were trying to achieve before the bug occurred using our support system.
  4. Your maps will be stored in our beta cloud and we will make an effort to ensure to preserve your maps when we update the software. However, sometimes this may not be possible and you may loose your maps.
  5. Please save your files ("Download") to your local storage or your own cloud storage.
  6. We are making updates to the webapp and these updates may change the way the application looks and feels.
  7. It is possible that you run into an issue and perhaps a newer update is already available. In that case, clear your browser cache and reload the app.
Known limitations:
  1. Classlink and Clever SSO logins are currently disabled. We are working on this.
  2. Touchscreen support: There is an issue when you are using the webapp on a Windows computer with touch screen: Sometimes the keyboard appears "disconnected" and you have to click back into the map to enter any text. The only solution we have found is to actually disable the touch screen on your computer (go to the Device Manager, find "Human Interface Devices", and right-click onto "HID-compliant touch screen" and select "Disable Device"). We are working on this.
  3. You cannot actually purchase a subscription to this app at the moment. We are working on this.
  4. The app shows the "IdeaMapper Cloud Premium Edition" functionality, we are going to release different editions with reduced functionality. 
  5. The video tutorials and animations show previous versions of the software. We are working on this.
Known problems:
  1. Some users report a problem where the app refuses to load with a "WebGL is not supported" message. Please click here for instructions on how to fix.
  2. Some users report problems where when using Grammarly or other "browser extensions" the application may become unresponsive. In this case disable the extension and try again.
  3. Some users report problems with older browsers. We use "WebAssembly" which is quite advanced technology and you may well have to update your browser first to the latest version.
