How do I disable the automatic update check at the start of the program?

All IdeaMapper editions will regularly check for updates. This usually happens once a month and once an update has been found the user will then be reminded every time they start the software to update.

In a managed environment (e.g. a University Campus) you may want to disable this automatic check.

To do so add the following DWORD Registry key in HKLM\Software\BioSilico\[Edition]\[VersionMajor.VersionMinor]\UpdateInfoCheckDisabled and set it to 1. Replace [Edition] with your edition, e.g. "IdeaMapperHigherEd" or "IdeaMapperPro". Replace [VersionMajor.VersionMinor] with your edition's major and minor version numbers, e.g. "4.2". [Note that after installation there should already be the registry folder HKLM\Software\[Edition]\[VersionMajor.VersionMinor].

The users can still check whether updates exist by starting the program, and then in the programs homepage follow "Account->Updates".
